T-Mobile is one of many subsidiary companies under the German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom AG. Customers of T-Mobile can receive mobile phones and mobile phone plans. T-Mobile provides services to customers throughout the United States, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Poland. If you want to cancel your T-Mobile plan and want to know how much it's going to cost you, keep reading for a full breakdown.

Canceling Within 14 Days of a New Plan

If it has been less than 14 days since you've signed up for your phone, you can return the phone. The phone must be in "like new" condition. You will receive your money back minus restocking fees and you will have to pay for the service you used in that period of time.

Cancel in Person

You cannot cancel your plan through the T-Mobile app. Instead, you'll have to cancel in person or over the phone. Find a local T-Mobile retail location and cancel your plan in person. The customer service representative can explain to you any fees and outstanding balances you will have to pay. If you bought your phone on a plan with monthly payments towards the phone, you will have to pay off the remaining balance on the phone. This amount will vary from person to person based on how far along in your plan you are and what kind of phone you chose.

If you brought your own phone to T-Mobile or have paid off your phone in full, you will only have to pay for your remaining invoices and a potential cancellation fee.

  1. Go to https://www.t-mobile.com/store-locator
  2. In the box that says ‘Find a store,' enter your city and state or zip code.
  3. Select which store you would like to visit. Take a note of the store hours and operating days before you plan your visit.

Call Into T-Mobile Customer Service

If you prefer not to cancel in person, you can call into T-Mobile's customer service line. Explain that you wish to cancel your account and ask how much it will cost you. Be very clear you want the full amount including your service charges and any cancellation fees. The customer service representative may try to convince you to stay but do your best to stay firm in your decision to cancel. Ask the agent if you can pay any outstanding fees outright or if they will be processed via your last bill.
